“My job is to provide support and legal expertise to people who may be going through some of the hardest times of their lives,” Cody said. “I take care to make sure my clients understand the dynamics of their case, provide confidence and empathy, and help them navigate the legal system so we can get the best possible outcome.”
Cody Wright is an attorney based in Minneapolis, Minnesota who maintains a robust practice in all areas of criminal defense, including DWI/DUI, assault, drug charges and post conviction work such as expungement and restoration of gun rights. Unlike many Twin Cities attorneys, Cody represents clients in the metropolitan area and throughout the state. In addition to his office in Minneapolis, he regularly travels all over the state to represent people.
Raised in a working-class family in Hastings, Minnesota, Cody went on to play football and majored in sociology and anthropology at Gustavus Adolphus College. He earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), where he was recognized as a winner of the William Mitchell Merit Scholarship and the Minnesota Justice Foundation Achievement in Volunteer Public Service.
Cody has a depth and breadth of experience stemming from his early days as a law clerk in the Ramsey County Attorney’s office, his service in the First Judicial District’s Public Defender’s Office, and his work as an associate attorney for two well-regarded Twin Cities law firms focusing on criminal defense.
Cody is married to his college sweetheart, Emily, who works as a nurse in a major Twin Cities hospital. They have two young children. In his spare time, Cody enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, and do-it-yourself home renovations.
